We have chosen a few locations for our filming. Our first location will be the Docklands, London. As we felt that the water and buildings surrounding the Docklands gave a sophisitcated and city feeling.

We then filmed at Dunlace Road, Hackney. As the escort went to meet the male at his house.

At the moment, one of my favorite thrillers is Jeniffer's body. It is a Thriller-comedy and it is about two best friends - a ridiculously hot high school cheerleader Jennifer Check (Megan Fox) and an Nerdy book worm Needy Lesnicky (Amanda Seyfried) . They fall out when Jennifer becomes possessed and turns into a man-eating succubus. I particularly liked it because it is light-hearted, and i experienced suspense as well as funny moments which i thought was a nice mix.

Intro to Camera & Health and Safety Tutorial:

In this tutorial we was introduce to the camera before we could start filming or sequences. We was giving a tutorial on how to use the follow equipment

• Tripod

This is a great tool because it allows you to keep your camera still. It can be extended or shortened in length

• Video camera

This is the most important tool because without it you wouldn't be able to film. We was introduce how to put in the battery into the back of the camera, how to turn it on, zoom,focus, record and how to watch the footages you've recorded.

• Memory card and memory car reader

The memory card goes into the side of the camera either in slot A or B but before this we got to make sure its unlock because the footage will not record if its locked. When you are finish filming you go into the editing room where you just put the memory card into the reader so you can have access to it on the computers.

• Video drive

finally this is what we store all our footages on including the work we have done on final cut pro, soundtrack and livetype.

Health and safety terms and conditions

• Use umbrella to keep camera dry if it is raining
• Always close the lens when finish filming
• Nevertouch the lens

Tutorial lesson on editing

Tutorial lesson on editing:

In this tutorial I learnt a lot of different techniques on editing a footage on final cut pro. After you've watched a footage you can choose to shorten or lengthening your footage by putting an input and an output anywhere you see fit then you drag it down to the time line. This software also includes many effects and transitions for example fades, dissolves,wipes and many more. I additionally learnt I could place music or sound effects on to the time line to give my film a specific feel whether its sad happy or tense.

Skills Audit : Livetype & Soundtrack

Brief:We had to film a short sequence mimicking the briefcase swap in collateral. Which we used Final cut pro to do the editing process. When we are happy that the editing is completed we export the footage to either Livetype or Soundtrack.

Livetype:

This allows you to add text,objects,template and effects, for example dissolving,fades, glows and many more on to your footage to give it a professional look.

Soundtrack

This enables you to add or layover natural sounds like footsteps, clapping and screaming. You can also add sound effects either to make your film comical or to build tension. Additionally you could even create an original soundtrack to make the footage more interesting.

Planning Preliminary Match Cut Exercise Including Storyboard

For this exercise we were given a synopsis of the opening to a film and then had to predict the shots that would be used.

The synopsis was:

"East London. 3pm. A man chain-smokes as he sits at his home PC. He copies confidential computer files and plans to a CD. He packages them and is seen posting them."

We were then given a sheet which had a grid with 20 rows. The instruction we were given was to fill the grid with our predictions of what shot types were used, where they were used and what happened in each shot. Following this we watched the clip and compared our predictions to what actually happened. About half of my predictions were right such as; a close up on the subjects mouth when he was inhaling the cigarette. These shots made us start to give some thought of the kind of shots we could use in our openings, what looks effective and keeps the audience interested.

We were next asked to create a storyboard to show what we had learnt in class. In this scene we were told to include to show how well we had understood the 180 degree rule, a match cut and a shot reverse shot.

The synopsis we were given for this scene was:

"a character opens a door, walks into a room, sits opposite another character and they share a few lines of dialogue"

For our scene we decided to shoot the subject's feet walking towards the camera, concealing their face to create suspension in the audience. The match cut would be of the door as it was opended by a hand on wone sidd of the door and opended on the subjects face in the next shot and our shot reverse show would be the two subjects conversation.
